One of the first to push the juke and skwee sounds in SF, Staypuft DJ is now working on the music for our favorite cartoon in years, Adventure Time on Comedy Central. On top of all this, Tim also runs the Nasty Sonix blog, which stays on the cutting edge of juke, skwee, and new dubstep tunes and mixes. This year lot of forward thinking producers have developed sounds that none of us can identify anymore. In 2010 we will all travel further toward the outer realms. This goes out to everybody who has pushed that and supported it. Watch out for my Carry The Fire EP on Semisexual Records in February 2010. Happy New Year!

Interview: Flying Lotus
I recently interviewed Flying Lotus for Big Up Magazine #4, which is just hitting stands. He was a very humble guy who took his time to absorb the questions and give me thoughtful answers. At the same time, he wasn’t afraid to say what he really felt. It was an amazing opportunity to get inside his mind as a beatmaker and see where he’s coming from. As a producer I felt truly inspired after talking to him. I can’t print the article here, but if you’re into his music, or forward thinking hip hop and electronic production in general, you should grab a copy of Big Up 4 and check it out!
